Miao Ethnic Group

Culture and Traditions
The Miao people have a vibrant culture that places great importance on family, community, and artistic expression. Festivals

Families gather to prepare traditional foods, wear colorful clothing, perform music and dances, and visit relatives and friends. The celebration expresses gratitude for the harvest and wishes for good health, happiness, and prosperity in the coming year.
Another famous celebration is the Lusheng Festival, which highlights the importance of music and dance in Miao culture. During the festival, people gather to play the lusheng, perform traditional dances, hold singing competitions, and participate in sporting events. The festival is also an opportunity for young people to meet, strengthen community relationships, and celebrate their shared cultural heritage.
